Dudley Award : ウィキペディア英語版 | Dudley Award The Dudley Award, named after former Virginia running back Bill Dudley, is presented annually by the ''Richmond Times-Dispatch'' to one NCAA football player in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The idea for the award came from George Mancini, a former Boston College football player, who moved his family to Richmond, VA, and became extremely active with youth sports in the area. The award has been presented 17 times to players competing for Division I FBS programs. Virginia Tech has had nine players win a total of 10 awards. Virginia players have won seven times. Old Dominion is now an FBS program, but its only award came when it was a Division I FCS program. Four other awards have gone to players at current FCS programs, with three for James Madison and one for Richmond. Division III Emory and Henry is the only non-Division I school to claim the award. Former Virginia Tech tailback Lee Suggs is the only player to receive it twice. ==Notes==
